This has really grown on me!  I like the way you always paint Snape as trying his best to be a proper miserable bastard, but one who easily folds when he actually gets what he wants.  Isn't it just like him to assume that Bette would flee when she woke up.  Poor guy.  It takes getting blown at the breakfast table to drive it through his skull.

Also, I'm a sucker for Jethro Tull references, as you well know. 

Now I need to re-read the sequel because they're so cute together and I do love Severus as Mr. Fix It!

This was fun to read. I do like Snape's Bette. Just what he needs and deserves.
