I do love the worlds you create! Fascinating story. What if this scenario ever happen? It would be a sad statement about humanity if it does.

There is so much love and understanding at the end of your stories! Thank you for sharing your optimism and imagination with us. :)

Elena

Author's Response:

It would be terrifying. THere are two stories I can think of that explore this, Children of men and the handmaiden.. both show a terrifying future...

thanks for the review

I can understand Eicca's feelings. Overwhelmed is not even close. How would they manage to have a normal life?

Roselyn is happy, the world is no longer as much of a threat and one more baby on the way.

Author's Response:

I wanted to show Eicca completely unsettled and confused with everything that was happening to him, I am so pleased it worked

I doubt those sentenced to live by their own means will survive. Put me just a few kilometres north of Toronto in the middle of Winter and I can assure I wouldn't last a day. So they are as good as dead. Harsh but what goes around comes around.

Author's Response:

the banishment from mthe tribe is a Cheyenne punishment, actually bout the worst you could get under their law.. and I thought it appropriate

It has taken me long enough to come back and finish this story, my apologies. I had to re-read two previous chapters. I seem to be unable to keep straight whose child belong to whom and how many lovers Roselyn has but that's just my stupid lack of retention. There are a few chapters left and I am really curious about the fallout of this terrorist attack.

Author's Response:

Kinza, a child of rape.. the first attack Roselyn suffered. She's married to Gabrille.

Sophia and Isabella Magnusdottir,  Magnus Larasson, rockstar is their father

Simon Hunter billionaire fathered Richard Simonssen and Jasmine Simonsdottir,

Jackson Blackhawk, fathered Lily and Donovan

Her present lovers are Ulrich, INga and Magnus.. though MAgnus is kept quiet because it is technically illegal

Chapter 9
Reviewer: eterna-romantica03 (Signed)

My only concern is that all involved in the attack are accounted for and that the masterminds behind it are dealt with.

Author's Response:

oh they will be.. well and truly found and punished

WOW!!!!!    Beautifully written.  I love the whole thing!!   I love Roselyn and her family.   Loved how you got rid of the Bad guys and girls....pla I think...lol

so nice to see ulrich to finally get to have children.

i would love to see this in print.   Love the story line, the fertiles, how you added the conflict/ bad guys into the story and beautiful you showed the love between Roselyn and her lovers.  And seeing her kids side of being fertiles.

Again---- lovely story.

Author's Response:

the first scene i ever pictured of this story was Ulrich standing by a huge hospital window with a baby in his arms watching the fireworks and telling the child They are all for you....

I would love to see it in print as well... every author's dream

I'll make it short not because I don't have anything to say but sometimes less is better. It was a moving and heart-stopping chapter. Women as commodities, will it ever change? In your story Roselyn has taken charge of her life and that of those like her and the USA is paying for its narrow-mindedness and greed.

Elena

Author's Response:

The USA is paying, but President Murry will, hopefully, change things for the better....I wanted the USA about 75 years behind the rest of the world with regards to the way the women have been treated

Oh no! A cliffhanger!

To me, having a house in Sweden another in Scotland and a cabin, designer clothes (even if they are borrowed), exquisite food, wines and more plus having not to worry about the future of my children amounts to living in luxury. I know what you're going to say, Roselyn is giving, has given a priceless gift to humankind.

Thank goodness the three of you conquered this chapter!

Elena

Author's Response:

Oh I totally agree about the luxury lifestyle, but the point was that others had more...and Roselyn wasn't greedy in her requests....

and yes an evil cliffhanger

I enjoy reading fanfics, but original works have a different taste and I love the fact that I get to read your original stories here.

For a minute there I thought Clara and Hazel were going to get caught. Roselyn may have pushed a few buttons with that move.

Author's Response:

I know exactly what you mean about the 'taste' of OFs.. and agree. some are lovely and some are not....

I imagine that Roselyn wanted to push a few buttons... they needed pushing

Wow, that was quite a chapter! A lot going on, there. Smart of them to have made plans for the eventual betrayal--I really hope Ulrich is alive!

It sucks that the government was forcing their lists on them. I can see handing them a list of fertile men and saying "It would be really stupendous if you happened to find one of these attractive..."

Author's Response:

I could see lists being held, and various men being brought into the circle of friends...but some governments are more subtle about it than others...I would hate to be handed a list and told Pick one. now!

While on the one hand I can see why she would be upset being denied, I can also see the other side. International treasures can be assassinated and that would be a great place to do it. I probably would have understood not attending the concert but put my foot down on the private meeting. Just me, though. I'm glad she had fun, though!

Author's Response:

I can see the securirty issues as well, and it might be dangerous, but it is the American attitude that has Roselyn's ire up. Ulrich and Ing could get away with a polite 'not this time Rose' but not some faceless bureucrat

Wonderful, so far! I'm sorry it's taken me so long to catch up! Seeing Swedish was a lovely surrpise!I spent a year in school there, and I adore that language. I was also pleasantly surprised to see you mention the Four Seasons. I've stayed there, and it's a lovely hotel! This was such a fun chapter for me--and a deliciously hot ending! :-D

Author's Response:

I hope I have the Swedish correct.. google translate is (hopefully) my friend...

I wanted to show the different ways the cultures have looked after the Fertiles, and I thought one of the most socially concious countries in the world was a good contrast.

thank you for taking the risk and sharing this original, it is marvelous!

Author's Response:

Thank you for a lovely review.. I think Melrose and Gibbs are getting there, and at least they are TRYING to understand.. more lessons will follow for them

I'll be honest, I wasn't going to read the story, when I first saw the summary. It might be stupid, since I wasn't planning to have any more children, and still, the surgery I had in February irrevocably made the fertility topic a bit touchy for me.

BUT, my curiosity got the better of me. J I was intrigued, and so here I am. I read it when you initially posted your chapters, and I read it a few more times yesterday. Plus, I told all my friends about it, because I found this plot exceptionally interesting.

I love your characterizations, and love how you gradually charging the atmosphere. I am already worried for our heroine. I can feel there are troubles ahead. Very, very much looking forward to the next installment.

Author's Response:

Fertility is a touchy subject for me as well. I wanted a HUGE family, but after a pregnancy that nearly cost me and my unborn daughter our lives more than once, I was advised no more...

The next chapter is standing by ready to be betad

I hope you enjoy it

I get it now. The USA isn't a haven to the Fertiles but a prison. Is Roselyn going to be able to leave the USA? Might government agents attempt to kidnap the two young fertile women Roselyn is going to visit?

Ulrich and INga will get her out, one way or another.....

I'm surprised after that horrid experience Roselyn found the inner strength to overcome it and be willing to give so much to the world. If I understood correctly, the USA has a much more bigger problem with infertility than the rest of the world?

Elena

Very, very interesting. All these drugs being prescribed or taken not so much to cure but to get rid of the symptom as opposed to find out what causes the disease. Drugs that may have a lasting effect. Greed and expediency trump everything else. First mystery: Who is Kinza's father?

Elena

Author's Response:

They know what the disease is, a virus that destroys the testosterone and eostrogen/progesterone producing cells (amongst others), at a DNA level so the clones also are damaged... You will find out later that there are companies working on a vaccine but they aren't there yet....The disease has done its damage and they have been left to pick up the pieces

Definitely interesting-- I'm a hard core sci-fi/fantasy fan, so I'm excited to see this. While you have elements of your previous run of stories--a couple of rock themed characters, you're branching out...which I love.

This sort of setting and premise is what I tend to look for in OF, it's like a hundred years after Children of Men. I enjoy the inherent conflicts found in a story like this over the purely relational ones you've written so far.

Those are good...but this has the potential to be amazing, in my opinion...

Author's Response:

a hundred years after Children of men, or the hand maiden is perfect, and I hadn't thought about that! You're right about th rock based characters. I have always had a thing for muscians and wrote the world I knew,

There are some very interesting conflicts, differing ideas about how to treat the women, what rights they should have. Religious and political views colliding with the girls caught in the middle
