There should be another question. Who do you base your characters on? Funny you should mention your son. Hermione's son in my fic is all my middle son (now 20 years old). From his physical appearance, to his tantrums to the way the toddler holds on to his mum, or reacts to strangers. My beta once told me 'write what you know and how you feel'. Can't think of anything more wonderful than having our children as inspiration. Love the phrase 'this tiny little version of us'. How true that is!

So true! 3 of my "Simon" stories (coming soon to a TMB post near you) are based on actual events that occurred when WW Jr. was little. Once he got out of the toddler stage, he got boring, HA HA. I don't think he'd appreciate any puberty stories making it to storydom! "this tiny little version of us".....my son looks so much like me my hubby wonders if he had anything to do with it at all!! However, there's no mistaking that Scottish dark hair for anything but his dad's.
A little of this, a little of that, a lot of confusion. That's my life!

I was cooking dinner and using beer in my chili when I saw Severus Snape sitting at a bar outside Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota drinking a beer in front of a mirror festooned with Christmas lights. That started a whole story.

I'm curious now. Snape isn't my first choice when I look around for something to read, but some of the wonderful authors (TycheSong, worry and others) have expanded my horizons and now I don't cringe as much. Ricardo Arjona continues to inspire me. In fact music is my greatest source of inspiration. Looking forward to read some of your stories.
